    April 21, 2009 -What do you do when your favorite past time is fishing and you can't make it to the lake? The answer in the past has usually not been playing a fishing game. Most such games have been budget affairs with sitting motionless being about the only thing in common with the real thing. Bass Pro Shops' The Strike is looking to break the genre out of that slump.

     Peripheral maker Griffin is no stranger to the videogame market. It's made guitars, charging stations and more for 11 years. But now it's got a new fishing pole peripheral designed specifically to work with the Wii remote and nunchuk, and this time around there's a game to go with it. The title is Bass Pro Shops' The Strike, it coms out later this year, and it ships with or without the company's innovative fishing rod peripheral depending on your preference. With for $49.99 and without for $39.99, in case you're wondering. The company contracted the creative aid of Piranha Games to handle the software side of things. The end result could be the most comprehensive fishing simulator on Wii yet.
