The incorrect fishing line for a big fish species or a slow boat in a competitive tournament can mean the difference between going home empty handed or with a live well full of monsters.

Fishing Rods and Reels

There are two different types of rods and reels used in the game - Baitcasting, with a reel that sits on top of the rod; and Spinning, with a reel that hangs below the rod. Make sure you use the corresponding Baitcasting and Spinning rods with their reels - a Baitcasting reel will not work with a Spinning rod.

Fishing Line

A variety of fishing line is available for purchase at the Bass Pro Shops Store. Make sure to keep in mind the size of the fish you plan to catch.

Boats

A selection of boats can be used in the game and are progressively unlocked as you win tournaments. After winning the Bass Pro Shops Invitational at the end of the game, you will win the top Bass Pro fishing boat to use on any lake you'd like.
